On November 16th 1899, Charlotte D. Clark along with the Women’s Christian Association of Springfield, opened the Clark Memorial Home at 616 N. Limestone. An assisted living community exclusively for women. Mrs. Clark resided at the home until her passing on June 26th 1908. In 1944 the home was incorporated with its own board of trustees as a non for profit organization. As a result of increased community demands for services to women, in 1969 the home was relocated to its current location.
